Vince Carter is one of the most highly-regarded players in Brooklyn Nets history. During his tenure, the Nets called New Jersey home, but his impact with the team still rings in the New York City borough in 2024. After retiring in 2020, Carter eventually became a Nets analyst for YES Network. Moreover, despite being 47 years old, Carter's athleticism has not left him.

Carter participated in the NBA's Dunk Week in late August and put on an impressive on-the-court display. Carter knocked down a three-pointer at Barclay's Center before winding up and throwing down a one-handed jam, as seen on the Nets' X (formerly Twitter) account:

Aside from the impressive fact that Carter's skills still look fresh, he got his buckets in dress clothes. Of course, fans were hyped by his display but know the amazing things he is capable of. One X user claimed that Carter could likely still pull off his in-between-the-legs windmill dunk. Carter may not be attempting a contest-caliber slam anytime soon, but he will be providing great support and insight as an analyst on the sidelines.

Vince Carter: a Nets legend

Vince Carter started his Nets tenure during the 2004-2005 season, where he made an immediate impact. The former All-Star totaled 27.2 points per game and shot a blistering 42.5 percent on three-pointers. He continued his stout production during the following season, averaging 24.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. Carter amassed averages of 25.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists during the 2006-07 season before experiencing a slight regression in 07-08.

Carter ended his time with the Nets with averages of 20.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. The star guard then had stints with the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, and Atlanta Hawks before his professional career was over.

Few guards have made an impact with the Nets like Vince Carter. However, one 2024 guard has fans excited.

Cam Thomas does not provide the high-flying theatrics of Carter, but his scoring ability is nearly as impressive. Thomas is preparing to further develop with the Nets during the 2024-25 season as the team's leading scorer.

It will be exciting to watch the next era of Nets stars after a high bar set by Vince Carter.
