After years of taking what they could in the NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets finally have a say in their prospect fate. The Nets' draft asset reload began when they traded Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for four first-round picks and a first-round swap in February of 2023. Nearly a year and a half later, they traded one of their returns from the trade, Mikal Bridges, to acquire several more first-rounders. Then, they made one of their biggest moves of the 2020 era, setting them up for a brighter future.
Time after time, Sean Marks has proved his value as GM by striking gold in the draft, and he has done it without top lottery picks. However, the Nets have a chance to land one of the most highly touted prospects in years in the 2025 draft after acquiring their pick back in a deal with the Houston Rockets during the summer of 2024.
Incoming Duke Basketball star Cooper Flagg is a five-star prospect with excellent two-way abilities and is predicted to be the No. 1 pick in 2025. He, Ace Bailey, and Dylan Harper are the top prospects teams would love to have, and the Nets will be right in the mix. Their landing spot in the draft depends on where they finish the 2024-25 season. In addition to 2025, Brooklyn also has control of their 2026 first-round pick, which is highly valuable due to the chance of nabbing a prospect like AJ Dybantsa. The Nets' draft future is exciting, so without further ado, here is a list of their upcoming selections.

The Nets have a healthy amount of draft assets from 2025 to 2031. As mentioned, the 2025 and 2026 projected NBA Draft classes are loaded with talent and are arguably Brooklyn's most important years to secure prospects in. The poorer Brooklyn's record is during the 2025-25 and 2025-26 seasons, the higher the chance they have to climb the draft lottery and obtain a potential star.
Even if the Nets overperform during this period and their picks fall out of the top five or so, they still have a bright future.
Brooklyn has a potential superstar in Cam Thomas, who led the team in scoring during the 2023-24 season at just 22 years old. In addition, they retain the services of rising All-Defensive player Nic Claxton, promising offensive threat Jalen Wilson (who won the 2024 NBA Summer League MVP award), and Noah Clowney.
It will be exciting to see how Sean Marks and the Nets front office continue to construct the roster during this anticipated period of growth.
