Ziaire Williams, acquired by the Nets last July in a trade with Memphis, seems to have his Brooklyn routine in order.
In his fourth NBA season, averaging 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds through 27 appearances (22.5 MPG), Williams recently shared with the Nets his top-five favorite Brooklyn gems to visit, both sights and good eats.

Red Hook Tavern (Red Hook)
Red Hook Tavern is a classic American restaurant serving the waterfront village in Brooklyn as a refreshing tribute to old-school taverns and other legendary establishments throughout New York history. Owner Billy Durney, a significant culinary figure who opened the tavern almost five years ago, was nominated for a James Beard Award in the Best Chef: NYC category in 2019.
"Shoutout to the owner, Billy," Williams said. "The whole restaurant is just a great feeling."
Dumbo Ferry (Dumbo)
This part of the NYC ferry system travels between Manhattan and Brooklyn, able to take commuters from Wall Street/Pier 11 to Dumbo in four minutes. For those interested in the scenic route, Discover NYC suggests boarding the ferry at East 34th St. and taking a trip down the East River. Various routes connect Dumbo to other waterfront neighborhoods across Brooklyn and Queens.
Ferries typically offer indoor and outdoor seating, bike racks and snack bars alongside delightful views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline.
"I love nice views with good sunsets," Williams admitted. "If you go at the right time, it will give you all of that."
Brooklyn Bridge Park (Brooklyn Heights)
Spanning a 1.3-mile stretch along the East River, Brooklyn Bridge Park received the Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize in 2021 for turning an old, forgotten industrial site into what the prize jury called, "a vibrant public space." This 85-acre waterfront area features countless amenities (basketball courts, fields, fishing areas, boat launches, kayaking, rock climbing, concessions, etc.) and incredible views, open 365 days per year.
"If I had a dog, I'd be out there every day," Williams joked.
Irie Caribbean (Crown Heights)
Irie Caribbean Kitchen & Bakery, known for its authentic Caribbean flavors and standout Jamaican cuisine, is a local favorite in the Crown Heights neighborhood. Traditional items served include jerk chicken, oxtail, and curry goat, among others. The 23-year-old Nets forward swears by one dish on the diverse menu in particular.
"I love their curry chicken," Williams said. "Bro, it's so good. I promise the best curry chicken you'll have out here."
Hometown Bar-B-Que (Red Hook)
Open since September 2013, Hometown Bar-B-Que prepares its meats with the Southern tradition of smoking on oak wood – in addition to mastering a selection of sides and desserts – with walk-in counter service available on a first-come, first-serve basis until the day's specialties are gone. The New York staple is another establishment owned by passionate pitmaster Billy Durney.
Hometown also hosts multiple bars offering a wide array of craft beers, wine, whiskeys and seasonal cocktails.
"I love their brisket, love their ribs," Williams added. "They got some great sides, really just a great all-around menu."
