Brooklyn made a few anticipated adjustments on Wednesday, sending Bojan Bogdanovic out of the borough and bringing Killian Hayes back to the Nets.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Brooklyn is finalizing a 10-day contract with Hayes, who has averaged 21 points, 8.3 assists and 5.5 rebounds during his stint with the G League’s Long Island Nets this season. The 23-year-old guard now has a short chance to reshape his career with widely respected head coach Jordi Fernandez and a roster full of opportunity.
Hayes has been more confident than ever in both his shot and overall approach, and if anyone deserved that 10-day call right now, it was him.
Meanwhile, following earlier news that Bogdanovic will undergo season-ending foot surgery, Charania added that the Nets are waiving the 35-year-old veteran forward to free up two open roster spots, for Hayes and a standard NBA contract going to former two-way guard Tyrese Martin. Bogdanovic never suited up in Brooklyn following the Mikal Bridges trade, last playing for the Knicks on April 28, 2024. Surely, the Nets are grateful for the street clothes that went into his 2024-25 contributions.

Bogdanovic previously played in 212 games for the Nets from 2014-2016, averaging 11.2 points per contest.
Meanwhile, Martin isn’t eligible to appear for Brooklyn beyond the All-Star break on his current two-way contract, though just 36 games and six starts were enough to earn him a new standard agreement. The 25-year-old guard is posting 7.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 21 minutes per game, and for his most impressive showing yet, Martin recorded a career-high 30 points (8/10 3PA) against the Suns on Nov. 27, 2024.
Nets HC Jordi Fernandez on Tyrese Martin
Fernandez immediately expressed his appreciation for Martin positively impacting the Nets culture this year, being someone who directly reflects what Brooklyn is trying to build.
“He’s had big games,” Fernandez said. “But the most important is, like I’ve said, he’s about the right things. Working every day, getting better. We love him around here, so that’s the reason why, and I’m very, very proud of him.”
The Nets will convert Tyrese Martin to a standard contract ahead of tomorrow’s game. Jordi Fernandez on the move:

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports that the Nets will be finalizing a multi-year NBA deal with the swingman.
Ben Simmons and Bogdanovic find one-way flights out of Brooklyn, while Hayes and Martin elevate their status within the organization — positive rebuild developments across the board, by all accounts.
