Nets forward Cam Johnson will compete in the 2025 3-Point Contest during NBA All-Star weekend, ESPN’s Shams Charania announced Friday afternoon.

Johnson, who remains in Brooklyn beyond the trade deadline, will go head-to-head with Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Buddy Heild, Damian Lillard and Norman Powell. Hield (2020) and Lillard (2023, 2024) join the field as previous winners, giving Johnson the chance to knock off a two-time 3-Point Contest champion as a first-time participant just like lone Nets winner Joe Harris did to all-time sharpshooter Stephen Curry in 2019.

Lillard could become the first player to three-peat in the event since Bulls guard Craig Hodges (1990-1992) and tie the record for wins also shared by Celtics legend Larry Bird (1986-1988). Johnson is converting 41.7 percent of his three-point attempts upon this selection, shooting a career-high 7.7 attempts behind the arc per contest. The 28-year-old veteran ranks No. 10 in three-point percentage among players with more than five attempts per game, trailing only Garland (No. 5: 2.9 3P% / 6.9 3PA) and Powell (No. 4: 43.1 3P% / 7.9 3PA) among 3-Point Contest participants.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Chase Center, televised on TNT starting at 8 p.m. ET.

2019 Joe Harris 3-Point Upset

Watch Joe Harris hit all five of his money-ball attempts on the final rack, in the championship round, to knock off the greatest shooter ever.

“Steph is the greatest shooter of all time,” Harris said following his victory. “But again, shooting off of the rack for a minute is not indicative of being a better shooter than Steph Curry. I don't want anybody to get it twisted at all. He is coming in, and he's won this thing. He's participated a number of times. For me to come in my first time and to win, it's a surreal experience."
