Long Island Nets guard Kendall Brown has agreed to a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets in the team’s fourth G League call-up of the season, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto

Brown, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound guard drafted out of Kansas in 2022, made 18 regular season starts for Long Island this season (20 total appearances), averaging 16.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 36.3 minutes per game. He also competed in 14 Tip-Off Tournament games for Long Island, posting 16.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 32.6 minutes. The 21-year-old talent was acquired by Long Island on Oct. 26, 2024 in a trade with the Indiana Mad Ants, where he started 31 regular season games through two seasons.

Brown’s career G League averages sit at 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 33 minutes per contest. He proudly joins Tosan Evbuomwan and Reece Beekman as Brooklyn’s trio of two-way commitments.

The Cottage Grove, Minn. native has played in 21 NBA games from 2022-24, all with the Indiana Pacers, recording 1.4 points in 4.9 minutes per game. He had his two-way contact with the Pacers converted into a three-year standard deal less than a year ago, but with the final two seasons non-guaranteed it was easy for Indiana to cut the guard and his $2.1 million salary last October.

Brown now gets a fresh start in Brooklyn and the opportunity to bring along an interesting impact with his combination of athleticism and defensive versatility. The hustle is certainly there, alongside a high motor considering Brown’s been playing over 36 minutes per night. This former Baylor standout is also currently averaging 1.5 steals per game in Long Island, largely thanks to his massive 6-foot-11 wingspan.

This move comes less than a week removed from the Nets elevating former two-way guard Tyrese Martin to a multi-year standard contract. Martin filled the spot left behind by the Ben Simmons buyout once he reached the maximum 50 active NBA games allowed for two-way players.
